The Degree programme aims to help students become aware of different approaches to
Biblical, theological and church issues in Melanesia today, to help students evaluate these
different approaches from an evangelical Biblical viewpoint, and to develop skills in
applying and communicating the Biblical teaching to meet the spiritual, cultural,
developmental and church needs of our modern world.
The Bachelor of Theology (BTh) can be done in the following ways:
- For Diploma of Ministry/Theology graduates, CLTC offers an additional 2-year BTh
programme. Diploma of Ministry/Theology graduates must have a B average to gain
entry.
- Like Diploma of Ministry graduates, ADCS or GDCS graduates with a B average can
apply to study for an additional 2 years and receive a BTh, providing sufficient
ministry experience is evident. If sufficient ministry experience is not evident, the
student will be asked to complete a 1-year internship.
BTh students are required to complete a one year internship prior to pursuing the two
years of BTh studies. The following in an outline of the internship programme:

BTh students are normally given the opportunity to pursue one of five ministry tracks:
pastoral, teaching, intercultural, women, and youth. Students are also required to
complete a written thesis of approximately 9,000 words. Students will start thinking
about a topic of study in their fourth year and then work on this throughout the fifth year.
A course on research methods will help students to work on their thesis.
